Lithium Sulfate Monohydrate

Lithium sulfate monohydrate is a lithium salt of sulfuric acid, with the chemical formula Li2SO4·H2O. Lithium sulfate monohydrate is the most common form of lithium sulfate. Lithium sulface monohydrate is commonly used in the separation of calcium and magnesium, and in the making of high-strength glass.

In organic chemistry synthesis, lithium sulfate is used as a catalyst. In the pharmaceutical industry, lithium sulfate is sometimes used as an alternative to lithium carbonate for the treatment of mania, endogenous depression, psychosis, and schizophrenia.

Lithium sulfate has been tested as an additive for Portland cement, and serves to speed up the hydration reaction, which decreases curing time. Lithium sulfate monohydrate is also being researched in a new class of battery, and as a potential component of ion-conducting glasses.

Poworks manufactures and supplies high-quality lithium sulfate monohydrate for a variety of applications.
